Is there a kind of analytics software capable of calculating the total global impact of this one man? Something that could calculate the number of artworks created on devices, the number of degrees earned, the number of long distance relationships-turned-families, the number of business deals struck thanks to beautiful proposals and presentations, the number of inventions invented thanks, the number of brilliant ideas thought of while using these celestial products.

An apple product is a Wagner Opera or a Brahms Symphony. It is Gesamtkunstwerk: in art, a perfect whole.

All those calculations?
If such data could be collected, only Apple could build the hardware+software powerful enough to collect and crunch it
If such data could be crunched, only Apple could create a way to visualize it in a brilliantly elegant and comprehensible way
If such data could be presented, only Apple would figure out that people don’t actually want boring data brilliantly visualized and invent a way to communicate that same information in a humanizing, life-affirming way that people haven’t even dreamed of yet.

I’ve never felt so much sorrow for a person I’ve never met; it will be hard to do so ever again.

Is there a computer on the planet that could determine how many people on earth, apple user or not, rich or impoverished, present or future who has been or will be touched in one way or another by the contributions of Steve Jobs to our planet? Even I can calculate that. The answer is: Everyone.
